Telephone:

The Turkish telephone system is automated; phone calls are paid for with phone cards or tokens. Calls are measured in usage units. Tokens or jetons come in three sizes, increasing in size depending on whether it is local, regional or an international call. Jetons and phone cards are available from post offices. Jetons are also available from local Bakkals, i.e.egrocery shops.

Post

Turkish Post Offices are easily recognizable by their yellow tags. Major Post Offices are open 08.00-24.00.

The Posta Telefon Telegraf (PTT) handles post. Many larger train and bus stations have their own PTT branches. The PTT runs a courier-type service called acele posta servisi (APS), which operates internationally. Other international carrier services are widely available as well. Please keep in mind that all parcels mailed out of the country must be opened for customs inspections.
